A mousy Broadway fanatic finds himself transported into a fictional 1928 show in The Drowsy Chaperone (music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar), a musical within a musical, or as it's billed, a musical within a comedy, opening Friday at the the Weekend Theater, West Seventh and Chester streets, Little Rock. Hopefully it won't be that hot, but the South Arkansas Arts Center, 110 E. Fifth Street, El Dorado, will stage the musical 110 in the Shade (music by Harvey Schmidt, lyrics by Tom Jones, book by N. Richard Nash, based on his play The Rainmaker), 7:30 p.m. today-Saturday and July 21-23 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday and July 24. Sponsor is Murphy USA. Tickets are $25, $20 for center members, $10 for students, with a discount Friday if you're 35 and younger. 9 MOTION

10 MOUNTAIN VIEW

The artisans in Ozark Folk Center State Park's Craft Village, 1032 Park Ave., Mountain View, will show off their skills after hours during Handcrafted Evening in the Park, 6-10 p.m. Saturday. Craftspeople will answer questions and share the tricks of the trade throughout the village, where admission for the evening is free. The evening concert in the auditorium will feature Pam Sester, Fog on the Mountain, Kathy Jensen and Keith Symanowitz, 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, $7 for children 6-12.
