A Popeye's Chicken receipt found in a stolen car led police to identify and later arrest a 17-year-old girl in North Little Rock, police said.

Alexis Kennedy of North Little Rock was arrested Thursday afternoon at 19 Neal Place and charged with felony theft of property, according to a police report.

North Little Rock police located the receipt in a stolen Kia Sorento and were able to track down surveillance video at the Popeye's Chicken at 716 E. Broadway, according to a court affidavit written by detective Robert Branch.

From the video, police were able to identify Kennedy as the driver of the stolen Kia, which is valued at $26,580.

On July 7, a caller reported that the Kia and another vehicle were stolen, and Kennedy had been driving both vehicles, according to the affidavit.

The Kia was not listed as stolen, police said, but instead belonged to a man who told police he had traded the car back to a Kia dealership weeks before. A Kia dealership employee told police they had no keys for the vehicle and believed it was taken from their lot, according to the affidavit.

Kennedy is set to be charged as an adult, according to the report. She was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Thursday night.
