Arkansas man died nearly 2 weeks after being struck by Jeep, police say

A Forrest City man died nearly two weeks after a vehicle struck him as he crossed a road earlier this year in Craighead County, Arkansas State Police said in a report released Friday.

In the preliminary report, state police said Brandon J. Williams, 20, was crossing Harrisburg Road north of Gladiolus Drive at 12:26 a.m. March 11 when a southbound 2014 Jeep struck him.

The driver of the Jeep, 23-year-old Jason L. Card of Jonesboro, was not injured in the crash, according to authorities.

After the crash, Williams was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro and later Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead March 23.

Conditions at the time of the crash were described in the report as clear and dry.

Williams’ death was the 224th recorded on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures from state police.
