A playground at Little Rock's Carver Elementary School was damaged by a fire Friday afternoon, though there were no reports of injuries, officials said.

Photographs from the scene taken by an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette photographer show the jungle gym melted and collapsed, with the metal monkey bars singed.

Carver, located at 2100 East 6th Street, was out on summer break along with the rest of the Little Rock School District, and it was not clear if there were any children on the playground when the fire started around 11 a.m., a spokesman with the fire department said.

Capt. Edwin Woolf said the fire marshall was on the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy last year in one of two reported arsons at school playgrounds.
