Heat advisory continues for third day

A heat advisory over much of Arkansas was active for the third straight day Friday, though the National Weather Service had lifted the caution in part of the state around Jonesboro.

Temperatures were again expected to be in the mid-to-high 90s with a heat index over 100 degrees.

The weather service issued precautions for those working outside and reminded people to never leave children or small pets unattended in a car.
