Economic panel gets contract-funding OK for $1.6M

The Arkansas Legislative Council on Friday approved a maximum of $1.6 million in state funding for three separate marketing and public relations contracts for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

The contracts went to public relations and marketing firm CJRW and digital marketing specialist Team SI. Both firms are based in Little Rock.

Two contracts, one for branding and multichannel marketing and one for public relations, went to CJRW. Team SI received the contract for digital marketing.

Outside of the $1.6 million in state funding, additional money for the firms could come from federal or private sources, according to Jeff Moore, a spokesman for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

The contracts replace the $1.1 million contract held by Stone Ward of Little Rock. The company handled marketing and public relations for the commission for the past 21 years.
