Some bargain

Remember when Obamacare was going to save us all scads of money on health insurance? Instead it continues to prove one of the costliest frauds ever perpetrated on the long-suffering American public. In the state of Florida alone, with all its old people and retirees, 15 different health insurers are asking for an average increase of 17.7 percent in their annual premiums next year. Some savings.

Then there's the steady erosion in Medicare Advantage, a sensible program that this administration continues to butcher--to the tune of $156 billion over a decade. When it comes to health insurance (and lots other things) Obama & Co.'s policy is easy enough to sum up: If it ain't broken, take it apart. Limb from limb if necessary. Obamacare may be the leading example of crony capitalism in a country with so many to choose from.

And there are so many to choose from, for Obamacare covers a multitude of government-subsidized sins. Let's not even get into some of its other crazinesses, at least not today. Like its trying to rescue any health insurers who might be in danger of not making obscene profits through Obamacare's health exchanges. Then there's Big Brother's war on the Little Sisters of the Poor for insisting on their religious principles and . . . . well, choose your own unfavorite aspect of this continuing scandal and folly. And something tells us we ain't seen nothin' yet. The worst may be still to come.
