Conway AARP Chapter Meeting
CONWAY — The Conway AARP Chapter will have a potluck, bingo and fellowship meeting at the Conway First United Methodist Church. The group will meet at 10:45 a.m., eat at 11 a.m., play bingo at noon and dismiss at 1 p.m. The chapter will provide fried and baked chicken. All are welcome to attend and to join the chapter for $5 annually. Attendees are asked to bring a canned good for the group’s food pantry. Creature Feature
CLINTON — Creature Feature, with the Little Rock Zoo, will be presented at 6 p.m. at the Petit Jean Electric Building, 270 Quality Drive. The event is free and open to kids of all ages. Civil War Exhibition
FAIRFIELD BAY — Fought in Earnest: Civil War Arkansas, a free traveling exhibit chronicling major historical events in Arkansas between 1861 and 1865, will be displayed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the Fairfield Bay Community Education Center, 130 Village Lane. The exhibit contains 15 free-standing banners that showcase images from the Arkansas History Commission’s holdings. Original documents, photographs, maps, drawings, paintings and artifacts illustrate the story of the Civil War in Arkansas.

Facebook Basics 101
FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Community Education Center, 130 Village Lane, Suite 5E, will offer a Facebook Basics 101 class from 1-3 p.m. Participants will learn how to add people as friends, send messages and update their personal profiles, as well as advanced features of Facebook. The fee is $45, and the class will be taught by Kathy Camp in Windows 10. Laptops will be provided for use in the class. June Family Movie Night
MORRILTON — As part of its ongoing centennial celebration, the Conway County Library, 101 W. Church St., will present a screening of Disney’s American Legends at 7 p.m. This animated adventure features the exploits of such iconic American legends as Pecos Bill, John Henry, Johnny Appleseed and Casey Jones. Fourth Night Art Walk
CONWAY — The Fourth Night Art Walk will take place from 5-8 p.m. in downtown Conway. People can take a self-guided tour of art galleries at UCA Downtown, Carmen’s Antiques, EM Jeans and Expressions. Work of local artists will also be on display at Simon Park. For artists who want to participate, booth space is available for $25, with proceeds benefiting the Conway Alliance for the Arts. Shakespeare Theatre’s 10th-Anniversary Season

First Folio Friday at the Library

Fireworks Extravaganza
HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will present one of the largest fireworks displays in Arkansas over Greers Ferry Lake on July 2. All are invited to view the Fireworks Extravaganza on the shores of Sandy Beach in Heber Springs or by boat. There will be kids’ activities and food vendors, and live music will start at 7 p.m., followed by the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., accompanied by choreographed music on KFFB 106.1 FM. Maumelle Cardboard Boat Races
MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce will present the third annual Cardboard Boat Races at 5:30 p.m. July 4 at Lake Willastein. Boat check-in will begin at 2 p.m., and the race will begin immediately after the parade. This year’s theme is American Heroes, and participants are encouraged to decorate their boats and attire. Teams will consist of two participants in each boat. All teams must have one participant 12 or older. Early-bird registration is $30 per team through Friday, then the cost will be $40 per team. CONWAY — The Conway Human Development Center Fishing Derby will begin at 7:30 a.m. July 30 at the CHDC Pond, 150 E. Siebenmorgen Road. Participants must be 12 years old or younger, or community individuals with developmental disabilities. Prizes will be awarded at 10:45 a.m. Anglers must bring fishing equipment, buckets and bait/supplies. Registration is $5 for the early-bird special, or $10, starting at 6:30 a.m. at the derby.
