A sports reporter and anchor at Little Rock’s Fox affiliate has accepted an out-of-state job in Kansas, according to the station’s assistant news director.

Chase Shannon, who joined the station in September 2015, signed off from KLRT-TV on Tuesday for a move to Wichita, Kan., where he is set to be sports director at ABC affiliate KAKE-TV.

KLRT Assistant News Director Ernie Paulson said the station wishes him the “very best of luck” at his new job.

“Chase has done a great job for us on the sports desk as well as telling memorable stories,” Paulson said. “We appreciate that he came into work each day with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.”

According to his KLRT bio, Shannon previously worked as a sports anchor and director during a four-year stint at NBC affiliate KTEN-TV in Sherman/Denison, Texas.

Shannon’s replacement is set to be announced next week, according to the Fox affiliate.
