Incumbent Benton County Sheriff Kelley Cradduck was ousted in today's election, and two of his competitors are headed for a runoff, according to final unofficial results.

Lowell Lt. Paul Pillaro and sheriff’s office Maj. Shawn Holloway were headed to a runoff to decide which one of the top two finishers will receive the Republican nomination for the November election, according to the preliminary results.

The runoff winner will be on the November ballot against independent Glenn Latham. There were no Democrats seeking the sheriff’s position.

Cradduck was seeking a third term. He sought re-election even after being arrested and charged with tampering with public record, a Class D felony; and tampering, a Class A misdemeanor. Cradduck has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Complete preliminary results will be released later tonight.
