North Little Rock woman killed when van crashes on wet road

A North Little Rock woman was killed after losing control of the vehicle she was driving on a wet road Sunday, according to Arkansas State Police.

Mary Ann Joshlin, 60, was traveling east in the 6100 block of Dorsey Road about 8:43 a.m. when her 1999 Chevrolet Express van left the road and struck a tree, state police said in a report.

Joshlin was pronounced dead at the scene by Pulaski County coroner Gerone Hobbs, according to authorities.

A passenger in the van, 46-year-old Kelly Dean Phelps of North Little Rock, was injured in the crash and was transported to CHI St. Vincent North, the report states. His condition was not known as of Tuesday morning.

Joshlin's death was the 83rd reported on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary state police figures.
