Arkansas 21-year-old killed after losing control of car in foggy conditions

An Ashdown man was killed after losing control of his car north of Texarkana in foggy conditions Friday morning, according to Arkansas State Police.

In a preliminary report, state police said Matthew T. Harris, 21, was traveling northbound on U.S. 71 about 5:54 a.m. when his 1996 Toyota Camry left the highway and overturned, causing him to be ejected from the car.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:50 a.m. by Miller County Coroner Joshua Hawkins.

The death was the 98th reported by state police on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
