Hogs, Longhorns to meet Dec. 17

Arkansas will renew its rivalry with Texas in men's basketball next season.

The Razorbacks and Longhorns will square off Dec. 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston, according to a CBSSports.com report. It will be part of a doubleheader with Arizona and Texas A&M.

The last time Arkansas and Texas met was in 2011, when the No. 12 Longhorns won 79-46 in Austin, Texas.

Arkansas leads the all-time series 85-67, but Texas has won three of the four games since the Razorbacks left the Southwest Conference.

Day signs with Arkansas State

Ebony Day, a 6-2 forward from Marion, has signed a national letter of intent with the Arkansas State women's basketball team, the school announced Wednesday.

Day averaged 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds, blocked 59 shots and shot 43 percent from the field for the Class 6A school. She was named to the Class 6A all-tournament team after helping the Patriots to the state tournament quarterfinals.

She is the sixth player in the signing class.

Arkansas hires Harper as coach

Arkansas announced the hiring of Nevada Coach Neil Harper as its new coach Wednesday.

Harper led Nevada to a 20th-place finish in the 2016 NCAA Championships in his only season in Reno.

Harper is the eighth head coach in Arkansas program history. He replaces Sean Schimmel, who resigned after four years in March.

UA players earn NCAA spots

Arkansas junior Mike Redlicki earned one of 50 at-large spots in the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 25-30 in Tulsa.

Redlicki is 14-5 as the Razorbacks' top singles player, including an 8-3 record in SEC play. He will also play in the NCAA doubles with senior Giammarco Micolani.

Arkansas earned its first team appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2006 on Tuesday.

Lysa nabs NCAA bid for Arkansas

Arkansas senior Yuliya Lysa earned a spot in the NCAA Championships on Wednesday.

Lysa, 13-6 in singles, and junior Shannon Hudson have been selected as one of six alternate teams for the doubles championships.

The NCAA championships are May 25-30 in Tulsa.
