4A-EAST

BROOKLAND 18, ESTEM 3 (4)

LONOKE — Senior Bailey Gibson belted a three-run inside-the-park home run and the Lady Bearcats (17-9) sent 17 batters to the plate in a 12-run second inning in a victory over the Lady Mets (7-3).

Bailey and senior Haley Morgan each drove in three runs for Brookland while winning pitcher Kyla Kelley struck out three and surrendered six hits in a game that lasted only four innings.

HEBER SPRINGS 3, HARRISBURG 0

LONOKE — Junior Tess Temple struck out 17 batters as the Lady Panthers (18-9) outlasted the Lady Hornets (16-13).

Junior Ericka Hatsell brought home the first run with a double in the second inning and junior Hali Bish completed the scoring with a two-run single in the fourth. Harrisburg pitcher Caitlyn Adams struck out four and the Lady Hornets left 12 runners stranded.

JONESBORO WESTSIDE 4, SOUTHSIDE BATESVILLE 0

LONOKE — Winning pitcher Brittnee Carson struck out three and went 2 for 4 at the plate as the Lady Warriors (15-8) bounced the Lady Southerners.

Carson, a senior, tossed a six-hit shutout while freshman Grayce Cureton had two hits and drove in two runs. Sophomore Kaitlyn Jackson also had two hits for Westside while Terrilynn Miller collected two hits for Southside.

POCAHONTAS 6, STUTTGART 0

LONOKE — Junior outfielder Ashlyn Ellis banged out three hits and drove in two runs as the Lady Redskins (20-4) defeated the Lady Ricebirds (10-12).

Senior Ashten Graves provided two hits and scored three runs for Pocahontas, which compiled 11 hits. Winning pitcher Kristen Wiseman allowed only one hits through five innings and finished with a four-hitter.

3A REGION 3

MELBOURNE 12, CORNING 2

HARRISON — The Lady Bearkatz, the top seed from the 3A-1 East, scored eight runs on eight hits over the first two innings one their way to a mercy-rule victory.

Melbourne finished with 10 hits, getting three singles from Cailey Cossey and two doubles each from Keeley Massey and Emma Shinn. The Lady Bearkatz were also aided by six Corning errors.

Winning pitcher Haley Brokaw struck out 12 batters and walked three. She also allowed just two hits.

RIVERCREST 16, YELLVILLE-SUMMIT 12

HARRISON — The Lady Colts bounced back from deficits of 6-2 and 7-4 in the first couple of innings to oust the Lady Panthers.

Rivercrest scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning, which included a grand slam by Lauran Shempert, to take control of the contest. Shempert hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to give her three hits.

The Lady Colts finished with nine hits. Kinsey Norvell and Erin Hardin each had two.

Yellville-Summit finished with seven hits, two each by Cierra Lampkin and Erin Still. Faith Cagle had and inside the park home run in the top of the seventh inning.

MANILA 8, FLIPPIN 5

HARRISON — The Lady Lions scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning to increase their lead to 6-0 and then held off the Lady Bobcats’ late rally.

Manila scored all five runs in the third with two outs, beginning with an RBI single by Lauren Woods and then finishing with a two-run double by Tess Pannells and a two-run triple by Sasha Pannells.

Flippin got on the board in the top of the fourth with Alyssa Spoon smacked a home run off the first pitch of inning. Manila added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Mollie Beth Couch and an RBI fielder’s choice by Woods.

With their last at-bat of the season, the Lady Bobcats made it interesting when Sydney Riggs led off the top of the seventh with a single and scored on an error. With the bases loaded and two outs, Marleah Flippin knocked in all three runners with a double. But then a flyout to right ended the game.

2A-SOUTH

SPRINGHILL 14, BEARDEN 1

DIERKS — Springhill picked up home runs from Alyssa Dougan, Andi Sennett and Kelsey Gammage in a five-inning victory over Bearden.

After being retired in order in the first inning, Springhill used 10 hits, four walks and a hit batter during the next three innings to put the game away. Gammage had three of Springhill’s hits. Mallory Nutt scored Bearden’s lone run on an error.

RISON 7, GURDON 5

DIERKS — Two-out extra-base hits by Julie Beck and Morgan Wilson in the third inning helped propel the Lady Wildcats over the Lady Go-Devils.

Beck doubled in a run and Wilson followed with a run-scoring triple during Rison’s three-run third inning.

Winning pitcher Kristen Hurst struck out five and finished with a four-hitter. Gurdon pitcher Taylor Whisenhunt struck out five.

PARKERS CHAPEL 12, MURFREESBORO 5

DIERKS — Bailey Norwood tripled, singled and scored two runs as the Lady Trojans defeated the Lady Rattlers.

Winning pitcher Courtney Phelps held Murfreesboro scoreless for the first five innings. She finished with nine strikeouts and an eight-hitter.

Savannah Slaughter also had two hits and scored three runs for Parkers Chapel, which finished with seven hits. Brady Hignight tripled and Hannah Kuykendall doubled during Murfreesboro’s five-run sixth inning.
