Bellinger's grand slam smacks Travs

Cody Bellinger cracked a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning Saturday, giving Tulsa a 6-2 victory over Arkansas in front of an announced crowd of 5,036 at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.

The Travelers' Cal Towey hit a home run to right in the top of the ninth to extend the game.

Arkansas had taken a 1-0 lead in the third when Alex Yarbrough doubled to right field with two outs. Andrew Daniel followed with an infield single but Yarbrough scored on a throwing error by Tulsa shortstop Brandon Trinkwon.

Bellinger singled to open the Tulsa seventh, followed by Willie Calhoun singling through the hole at second to put runners on first and third. Devan Ahart grounded out to Yarbrough at second, scoring Bellinger. Jordan Tarsovich got an infield single, moving Calhoun to third. Andrew Toles grounded out to second, scoring Calhoun to give the Drillers a 2-1 lead.

Scott Barlow started for Tulsa and went 7 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run and striking out 5. Three relievers limited the Travelers to only a hit with Grant Dayton (3-0) getting the victory after throwing a perfect 10th and striking out two.

Arkansas starter Victor Alcantara went 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 walk, striking out no one. Danny Reynolds (0-2) came on in the bottom of the ninth for the last out then struck out the first two in the 10th before walking Kyle Farmer. Farmer moved to third on two wild pitches and Alex Verdugo was intentionally walked. Jacob Scavuzzo was hit by a pitch before Bellinger unloaded his grand slam to right.
