Around 11 p.m., a Little Rock resident told police that "Black Elvis" had snatched a painting from her front porch along South Rice Street. Police then located Turner, 47, two blocks away, holding an open beer and unsteady on his feet, according to a police report.

He was taken to the Pulaski County jail on a public intoxication charge. Turner, who had been wanted for arrest in a parole violation in a separate public intoxication case, remained in jail Saturday evening.

Court records show Turner has pleaded no contest to public intoxication charges on 14 occasions over the past year.

Turner, an Elvis Presley impersonator, made national headlines eight years ago when he made his introduction to then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, who stopped by Little Rock's Kitchen Express diner while on the campaign trail. In a white studded jumpsuit and aviator-style sunglasses, Turner burst into song in front of the presidential hopeful, campaign staff members and news reporters.

According to a Wall Street Journal article that detailed the encounter, "Clinton, who jokes about having two left feet, shook her hips and did a little shimmy. She then gave Belvis a big high five, sparking applause from the crowd of mostly African-American long-time Clinton supporters."
