A 38-year-old man was shot several times at a west Little Rock gas station midday Monday after getting into an argument, police said.

The two men were parked at the Exxon station at the corner of North Shackleford Road and West Markham Street when they got into a "verbal altercation," Little Rock police spokesman Richard Hilgeman said.

One man took a gun from his car and began shooting, Hilgeman said.

Witnesses told police that a man pulled a handgun and fired several shots into the other man before fleeing. Police said the gunman headed north on North Shackleford Road in a Chevrolet Impala, according to a report. Officers were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m.

Police identified Frankiee Webb, 38, of Little Rock as the shooting victim. He was shot several times in his legs and was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock, police said.

Men in black rob AT&T store in LR

Two armed men dressed in all black entered a Little Rock AT&T store and demanded money Monday afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Little Rock police spokesman Richard Hilgeman said officers were called to the store at 2000 S. University Ave. around 1:30 p.m. on a report of a robbery in progress.

Two men, dressed in black hoodies and ski masks, entered the store, each armed with black semi-automatic guns, and ordered everyone inside to the back, demanding all the money, Hilgeman said.

It's not yet clear what was taken. The two men, who were black, then exited the store and got into a black SUV driven by a third black man, who was also wearing all black clothing, Hilgeman said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Hilgeman said the robbery was unrelated to a shooting that occurred an hour before at a gas station on West Markham Street but noted that it was rare for police to respond to back-to-back "major" crimes during the daylight hours.

Stolen car found damaged, burned

Hours after a carjacking Sunday outside an apartment in southwest Little Rock, authorities say they found the stolen vehicle burned and with damage to its front.

In a report, police said two men were approached by someone about 2:45 p.m. at West Wood Apartments at 15 Nandina Circle. The person demanded money while wielding a black firearm.

When the men, ages 19 and 20, said they didn't have money, the robber then demanded a black 2013 Ford Mustang registered to one of the victims and fled north on Stagecoach Road, according to authorities.

The Mustang was found about 6:40 a.m. Monday in an alley in the 3300 block of Bishop Street, which is about 12 miles northeast of the apartment complex, the report noted.

Authorities said the car had char marks on it with "some type of paper material" in the vehicle's gas tank opening and a charred blue towel on top of the car near the driver's side door.

The Mustang's front bumper sustained damage on its passenger side from running over a chain link fence, police said.

The robber was described as a black male who wore all red clothing.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Woman stabs man in back, police say

An Arkansas woman was arrested Sunday after police say an officer saw her stab a man in the back, according to the Maumelle Police Department.

Officer Gregory Roussie arrived at an apartment in the 100 block of Park Drive in Maumelle around 10:46 p.m. in response to a domestic disturbance call, he wrote in a report.

Roussie said he saw a man leaving the apartment and instructed him to sit at the top of the stairs, the report said.

Roussie said he then saw 21-year-old Rejenae Henry come of the apartment and stab the man in the back with a knife while she held a child in one arm, causing the man to slide down the stairs. He was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center, police said.

According to the report, the man who was stabbed is the father of the child. Henry told police that he had thrown his daughter onto a futon and struck Henry on the back of the head, prompting her to call 911.

Henry is being held without bail and faces second-degree domestic battery, records show.

The man identified in the report as the child's father was not arrested, according to the Pulaski County inmate roster.
