The Cotton Blossoms (3-1, 1-1 GAC) controlled the momentum against the Tigers (1-3, 0-2 GAC) but could never pull away. UAM led 19-16 after one quarter, but The Tigers led briefly in the second quarter before the Cotton Blossoms ended the half outscoring the Tigers 8-2 for a 34-29 halftime edge. East Central closed the gap but could never regain the lead in the second half.

Junior Treasure Evans led UAM with 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field, along with 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Sophomore Regerina Baker contributed 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 8 points. Sophomore Mia Hayes had 9 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.

The Cotton Blossoms hit 24 of 59 from the field (41 percent) and 6 of 16 on three-point attempts (38.0 percent). UAM made 10 of 16 on free throws (63 percent). The Tigers finished 21 of 54 from the field (39 percent), 4 of 21 on three-point attempts (19 percent) and 11 of 13 on free throws (85 percent).

In other action involved Great American Conference teams, Ouachita Baptist (2-0) defeated Southern Nazarene 72-66 at Vining Arena in Arkadelphia. Alvia Huell led the Lady Tigers with 15 points and four rebounds. Katie Kapler had 14 points and Bria Caldwell finished with 12 points. Ouachita Baptist outscored Southern Nazarene 17-2 to take a 27-19 second-quarter lead after trailing midway in the first quarter. Oachita Baptist led 38-27 at halftime and 60-44 after three quarters. The Lady Tigers shot 38 percent from the floor but made 19 of 23 free throws (82.6 percent) and outrebounded Southern Nazarene by 7. ... Arkansas Tech (2-1, 1-1 GAC) dominated inside, outscoring Northwestern Oklahoma 46-4 in the lane en route to an 81-35 victory over Rangers (0-4, 0-2) at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville. The Golden Suns outscored Northwestern Oklahoma 22-2 in the first quarter, holding the visitors to 9.1 percent field-goal shooting. The Golden Suns scored 26 points off 27 turnovers. Arkansas Tech outscored Northwestern Oklahoma 14-5 on second-chance points and 14-0 on fast-break points. Kelsey McClure scored 11 points as all 12 players scored. ... Pink Jones scored 23 points as Henderson State (2-2, 2-0) defeated Oklahoma Baptist 89-73 at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia. Torrie Thompson finished with 18 points and made four three-pointers. Hailey Estes had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Henderson State shot 39.2 percent from the floor while holding Oklahoma Baptist to 40 percent shooting. Henderson State committed nine turnovers while forcing 14 and outrebounded Oklahoma Baptist 49-40. ... Caroline Hogue scored 25 points and had 18 rebounds to lead Harding (4-0, 2-0 GAC) to a 76-72 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State at Rhodes-Reaves Field House in Searcy. D'Andrea Haney had 15 points and Falan Miller added 12. Harding shot 38 percent from the floor despite shooting 24 percent on three pointers and turning the ball over 21 times. Harding outrebounded Southwestern Oklahoma 48-38. Hailey Tucker and Hayden Priddy led Southwestern Oklahoma (2-2, 1-1) with 17 points. Whitney Dunn added 16. ... Olivia Porter made 6 of 13 from the floor en route to 20 points to help Southeastern Oklahoma (3-1, 2-0) defeat Southern Arkansas (1-2, 1-1) 77-61 at the W.T. Watson Center in Magnolia. Kimberly Crown finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Southern Arkansas while making 7 of 11 shots from the floor. Demi Read had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Southeastern Oklahoma made 11 of 34 three pointers while Southern Arkansas made 2 of 8.
