ASU to get $1.8M to play at Georgia

Arkansas State's payouts for nonconference football games keep going up.

ASU and Georgia have agreed for a game on Sept. 14, 2019, according to a game contract signed this month between the two schools released by the university.

Georgia will pay ASU a school-record $1.8 million for the game.

The payout tops recent agreements with Alabama ($1.7 million) to be played in 2018 and Nebraska ($1.65 million) to be played in 2017.

ASU is set to open the 2018 season Aug. 31 at home against SMU and play at UNLV on Sept. 7. It is short one nonconference game for that season, likely a Football Championship Subdivision opponent.

ASU has played at Georgia twice, a 38-7 loss in 1997 and a 45-17 loss in 2001.
