Hamburg senior Logan Smith returned an interception for 96 yards for a touchdown for the first score of the game in the second quarter. The extra-point attempt failed.
Hamburg senior quarterback Stetson Selby threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Andrayvon Forrest with 6:41 left in the quarter, and senior Alan Lemus kicked the extra point. With 16 seconds left in the first half, Selby threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to senior Laquan Bryant, which was also followed by an extra point by Lemus.
In the third quarter, Selby threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to junior Xavious Thompson, and Lemus kicked the extra point.
Monticello scored its only touchdown with 8:11 left on a 3-yard run by junior Ryan Lambert.
Selby threw for 194 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Smith ran for 96 yards on offense and tallied 11 tackles on defense.
