MARION -- Marion (2-3, 1-1 6A-East) rode a bend-but-don't-break defensive philosophy and big-play offense to a rout of Little Rock Hall (2-3, 0-2) at Patriot Stadium.

The Patriots trailed 7-6 after the first quarter thanks to a Jaden McGraw 35-yard touchdown pass to Daveon Martin, but Marion got a 4-yard touchdown run from Tom Young to take the lead for good early in the second quarter.

Later, Marion linebacker Anthony Switzer intercepted McGraw's pass and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown and a 20-7 advantage.

Another defensive score came midway through the third quarter with the Pats ahead 33-7 when McGraw was stripped by Marion defensive back Kabryn Williams, and Kenta Jones recovered it and scored from 28 yards out for a 40-7 lead.
