NEWPORT -- Cash Forrester threw for three touchdowns and Jay Crite returned an interception 40 yards for one of his three touchdowns as Newport (6-1, 4-0 3-3A) shut out Corning (0-7, 0-4).
Forrester passed for 35 yards and 20 yards to Crite for touchdowns. Forrester's other scoring pass covered 26 yards to Alberto Garcia.
Jerry Ellis scored on runs of 28 and 38 yards. Jordan Neal had a 2-yard touchdown run and Tydrell Friar ran 71 yards for Newport's final touchdown.
Forrester completed 6-of-9 passes for 129 yards. Crite caught four passes for 102 yards. Friar led all rushers with 104 yards on 4 carries.
Defensively, Oshae Pruitt had six tackles for the Greyhounds.
