Noted author on tap for Insights lecture

Best-selling author Donald Miller will be the featured speaker during the “Insights: A Series of Lectures and Talks” program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St. in Little Rock.

Miller is known for his books Blue Like Jazz, which was also made into a movie; A Million Miles in a Thousand Years; and Scary Close. In addition to his books, Miller also writes two blogs, one on how to live a better life and the other on how to expand a healthy business.

Annie Burton, series organizer, said through his work Miller helps individuals, businesses and churches tell their stories.

“All of us, as well as the church, have been through tough times. But what Donald teaches is that when we risk telling our story, and drop the act, we find that healing and growth begin,” Burton said. “By exposing Donald’s insights, humor and wisdom to the Little Rock community through our Insights Series, we hope that more of us can benefit and learn from his experiences, thus helping each other grow in our own.”

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the cathedral with a reception following in Morrison Hall. Cost is $25 for general seating and $100 for patron tickets, which include reserved seating and admission to the sponsors and patrons reception before the talk. Tickets can be bought online at trinitylittlerock.org/events/insights.

Future speakers in the Insights series include Marilynne Robinson on Feb. 22, Lauren Winner on April 22 and Rachel Held Evans on June 3.
