85-year-old Pulaski County man's death while hunting investigated as accidental

A man was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a rural area of Bearden.

Personnel from the Ouachita County sheriff's office and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission received a call and responded to Ouachita County Road 92, where they found the body of Elvin Miller, 85, of Pulaski County.

Ouachita County sheriff's office administrator Nathan Greeley said Miller's death appeared to be accidental and that evidence suggested Miller fell out of a tree stand while deer hunting.

"It's being investigated as an accidental death," Greeley said. "We went out there and did the initial report, but Bobby Lewis and the AGFC are going to be over the investigation because it's more of a Game and Fish-related case."

Commission Capt. Bill Brown said the death is still under investigation.
