Woman sentenced for theft

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Bentonville woman accused of stealing money from a local weight loss clinic pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Washington County Circuit Court on Monday.

Elizabeth Millard, 40, worked at Roller Weight Loss and Advanced Surgery as the chief operating officer until she was arrested in October 2015.

Millard pleaded guilty to theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card. She was sentenced to 10 years of probation, 30 days in jail, 90 days of community service, was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $105,264 victim restitution.

Investigators say the company began to notice financial discrepancies after it hired someone to convert its finances to QuickBooks. That month, the company received a credit card statement in the amount of $3,900 for purchases made at Wal-Mart and Best Buy, according to police. According to the arrest affidavit, the rewards number on the receipt for those purchases belonged to Millard's husband.

Police said she also took money from the sale of nutritional supplements.

Roller Weight Loss filed a civil lawsuit against Millard in August.
