Caregiving subject of expo at church

Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock will host a Caregiver's Expo 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Great Hall. The church is at 600 Pleasant Valley Drive.

The expo will offer information and resources to those caring for a loved one. A panel of experts in nursing, palliative care, legal matters and insurance will be on hand to answer questions and more than 25 vendors will have information and resources available for attendees.

Donna Terrell, KLRT-TV news anchor, will be the keynote speaker. Terrell was caregiver to her daughter, Queah, who died of colon cancer.

Lunch will be provided. The event is free but registration is needed and can be completed online at secondpreslr.org or by calling the church at (501) 227-0000.

Speaker to address Judaism, diversity

Yavilah McCoy will be the featured speaker at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 for the 2016 Ben J. Altheimer Lecture on Judaism and Civil Rights at Hendrix College, 1600 Washington Ave., Conway. The lecture will be held in Reves Recital Hall.

McCoy, a black Orthodox Jew, is a teacher, writer and diversity consultant and has been an advocate for Jews of color in the United States. McCoy has also worked for full inclusion of minorities in society in general.

The public is welcome to attend the free lecture. A reception will follow. The program is co-sponsored by the Miller Center for Vocation, Ethics, and Calling and the Ben J. Altheimer Foundation.

Choirs to perform Mass of Children

The choirs of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, both in Fayetteville, will come together in November for three performances of Mass of the Children by John Rutter.

The first performance will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday during the All Souls Day Mass at St. Joseph, 1722 N. Starr Drive. The choirs will also perform at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6 during Evensong at St. Paul's, 224 N. East Ave., and at 4 p.m. Nov. 13 at Subiaco Abbey, 405 N. Subiaco Ave., in the Logan County community of Subiaco.

Linda P. Kelly, St. Joseph music director, will conduct the choirs and the chamber orchestra. Charles A. Rigsby, organist and choirmaster at St. Paul's, will be the organist. Soprano Meisha Stewart and baritone Christopher Senty will be the featured soloists.

Episcopalians to train for LGBT inclusion

The Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St., Little Rock, will host a SafeZone training event from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 5 in the cathedral's Morrison Hall.

The program will offer information on creating an inclusive place of worship for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Lisa Bohn, who leads SafeZone training as part of the Women and Gender Studies program at Arkansas State University, will be the facilitator.
