MALVERN -- Aaron Weatherford threw for a touchdown and ran for another to lead Glen Rose past Malvern.
Glen Rose (1-0), playing host to crosstown-rival Malvern (0-1), got a 28-yard run from Weatherford with 40 seconds left in the third quarter. Earlier in the quarter, Weatherford found Austin Hughes with a 26-yard touchdown pass.
Jack Thompson scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter for Glen Rose.
