'RAICES MEXICANAS'

Argenta Art Gallery show spotlights Hispanic culture

Artwork by 11 artists with Mexican roots is on exhibit at the Argenta Art Gallery. The show, "Raices Mexicanas," opened with a reception on Sept. 1.

The exhibit is a collaboration between The Latino Art Project and the Mexican Consulate.

Rodolfo Quilantan Arenas, head of post at the consulate in Little Rock, welcomed guests to the reception. He noted the artwork is full of life, color and imagination. North Little Rock Mayor Joe Smith spoke about how art, whether it is visual, dance or music, can draw people together.

Will Hogg is founder of The Latino Art Project, which celebrates Hispanic culture by featuring artists and/or subject matter through the visual arts.

The show of works by Luis Atilano, Luis Arellano, Martin Flores, Mark Clark, Gustavo Lira Garcia, Anthony Samuel Lopez, Rolando Quintero, Alan Rodriguez, Luis Saldana, Sergio Valdivia, Sabrina Zarco and X3mex, will be on display through Oct. 1.
