On Friday, 11 companies on the index saw their shares decline.
Murphy Oil Corp. shares tumbled 5.3 percent in heavy trading, and USA Truck Inc. shares fell 3.3 percent in light trading.
Home Bancshares Inc. declined 4.5 percent in very heavy trading.
Communications Sales & Leasing Inc. rose 1.3 percent in heavy trading.
The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
