RAPID RED*** has sprinted consistently well at Oaklawn and Fair Grounds this season, and he has proven route experience and is dropping in price for winning connections. RIPPIN RANGER has recorded four consecutive in-the-money finishes at this condition, and he has tracking speed and owns competitive Beyer figures. PASCHAL is taking a drop in class following two fourth-place finishes, and he is a strong finisher in a field which may produce a contentious pace.

RHYTHM PARK*** has crossed the wire first in six of his past seven races, and the speedy gelding has recorded sharp subsequent works and fits well in starter allowance races. MEDAL OF COURAGE finished just a head behind the top selection only two races back, and he is dropping in class following a strong third-place finish and is the one to fear inside the final furlong. ROJAC has been good in two starter allowance races at the meeting and switches back to the leading rider after a dull effort against better.

FOREVER FARA** has pressed a fast pace before tiring in two maiden allowance sprints at the meeting, and she is taking a significant drop and is the one to catch. ABBOCCATO had to overcome a slow start in two late-running in-the-money finishes at Fair Grounds, and she picks up the leading rider. BEAU ME FAST ships from Turf Paradise following a front-running second-place finish, and she moves into a winning stable who puts her on bleeder medication Lasix for the first time.

CATTY N SASSY** has finished with a good run in a pair of sprint races at the meeting, and she is an experienced two-turn runner who may be sitting on a peak effort. SHE'SABREES is another with two encouraging sprint races this season, and the 18-race winner has won two of three at this distance and receives a weight break with an apprentice rider aboard. MISS MAMACITA is a one-run closer in good form, and she owns the field's fastest last-race Beyer figure.

POP TARTS PRINCESS** has improved through the stretch in her sprint races this season, and she is finally running a distance she is bred to excel. SALUTE THE WARRIOR dropped to this level and stretched out in an improved second-place finish, and the two-time beaten post-time favorite may get it done. BOOMTIDEROCK has earned competitive Beyer figures in her sprint races, and she is bred to run this far and drew a favorable post.

ENTERPRISE VALUE**** raced close to a fast pace in a clear second-place finish in a stronger optional-claiming field, and the steadily improving filly has strong connections and simply looks best. UNFORGIVABLE U showed excellent speed and was stake-placed last season as a juvenile, but she has not raced since September and sharp connections are quick to put her in a claiming race. TOO MUCH TO BEAR tired after running alongside the top selection when making her local debut, but she did finish third in a sprint-stake Feb. 18 at Houston.

ROCK CITY ROADHOG** finished third behind two quality state-bred sprinters in the $100,000 Nodouble, and he is a five-time winner at Oaklawn and may hold a class advantage. FIVE O ONE convincingly defeated three-year-old rivals in the Rainbow, and the unbeaten colt may be talented enough to defeat older horses. SUSPECT A STORM hit the wire only one length behind the top selection in the Nodouble and came back to easily defeat $30,000 claimers.

HOTSHOT ANNA** recorded a pair of two-turn stake-placed finishes on turf at Fair Grounds, previous to a troubled and encouraging sprint-stake finish at Oaklawn, and the presence of the leading rider evokes confidence. MISS MO KELLY was one-paced when sixth best in the Grade II Azeri, and she benefits from a significant drop in class and she is back on the rail. ADORE has not raced since June, but the graded stake-placed filly has the early speed and class to win if brought back fit and ready by trainer Steve Asmussen.

SUPERSTAR BEA** finished second in the $100,000 Rainbow Miss, and the consistent sprinter has competitive Beyer figures, and she is bred to run this far and is wearing blinkers for the first time. LIL MISS BLUE EYES is adding blinkers after a troubled third-place finish, and she drew an improved post and drops three pounds. CRIMSON FROST showed big improvement to finish second at big odds March 18, and several sprinters stretching out should produce a fast enough pace for this closer.

EXOTIC POSSIBILITIES

RAPID RED is a logical threat in the first race and a good horse to “key” in a 10-cent superfecta. Using five horses in the second, third and fourth spot the wager comes up only $6. The second race begins a 50-cent Pick 4 and has a solid choice in RHYTHM PARK and MEDAL OF COURAGE is not one to leave off a ticket. The third race drew 11 runners and three in my opinion need to be used. The fourth race is pretty competitive and will take some coverage to provide a chance to win. The fifth and final race has interesting “price” horses, including top pick POP TARTS PRINCESS and others for those with deeper pockets.
