1 Purse $24,500, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up who have never won two races, Arkansas-bred, claiming $15,000

NIKKI'S ROSE** tired badly after pressing a fast route pace, but she is a stake-placed sprinter this season. Her best running has been for today's rider Ricardo Santana Jr. KAUAI NANA was a sharp stalk-and-pounce debut winner, and she is spotted to repeat in a restricted conditioned-claimer. DIVA OF DISASTER crossed the wire just one position behind the top selection, and she did break her maiden last season at Oaklawn.

NUMANCIA** was forwardly placed in a second-place finish just two races back, and she is back in for $7,500 after a fifth-place finish in the Rainbow Miss. GREELY'S STRIKER has had some rough trips in three local starts, and she was a 4-length winner at Churchill before shipping to Hot Springs. DO IT possesses good early speed, and the consistent sprinter keeps a winning rider.

OFFICER GRIGGS*** has lost a late lead in four consecutive second-place finishes. He is wearing blinkers for the first time and likely graduates if he draws into the race. UNCLE GOYLE is back at his best distance after a useful front-running route. He is dropping into a maiden-claimer for the first time and deserves favoritism. YOO HOO'S ROCKET has put two encouraging 6-furlong gate works together, and trainer Mac Robertson excels with first-time starters.

ITASCA FALLS*** was bet down to favoritism and did not disappoint in a 13-length victory March 31. She is moving up a claiming condition and likely repeats barring a major bounce. TOM'S TO THE MAX defeated entry-level allowance rivals in her last race at Remington. She is dropping into the claiming ranks for the first time on the heels of a fifth-place allowance finish. HICKS HONEY managed a mild rally after a slow start in her first race for winning connections. She is dropping in class and switches to the leading rider.

DADDY'S MEMORY*** was likely best in a slightly troubled photo finish defeat. She is taking a drop in class and has enough speed to be in a good position turning for home. INDY BREEZE defeated $16,000 rivals only three races back at Churchill. She was claimed by sharp connections and is dropping to the lowest price of her career. COTTON CLUB CUTIE rallied to third at this claiming price March 16. The improving mare is dangerous if able to return to the form she showed last season at Canterbury.

CARE** was close to the early leaders in a clear maiden allowance victory. She was given a confidence lift when the runner-up came back to win a fast maiden race. ASIAN'S WAY encountered traffic problems in midstretch in a fourth-place finish at this level. She is making her third start after a freshening and figures closer to the early pace. STREET BIZ followed a sharp maiden victory with a competitive fourth-place allowance finish of her own, and she is a lightly raced filly who figures to keep improving.

DOC KANE** had to wait behind a wall of horses on the turn in a narrow defeat March 26. He has shown steady improvement and figures tough to deny with a clean trip. RECKLING finished with good energy in a competitive second-place finish against similar. He came back to win another and earn an improved Beyer figure. SEVEN FORTY SEVEN broke slowly and never reached contention in the Gazebo. He was a sharp wire-to-wire maiden winner in his previous race, and he is switching to a leading rider.

TALK THAT TALK*** is a speedy mare who has finished worse than second in four consecutive races. She is taking a small drop in class and is strictly the one to catch. MY PLACE OR YOURS dominated $7,500 rivals only two races back. A sloppy track may have compromised her best April 2. DIVINE WAY was a four-time winner in 2016, and she has high-percentage connections and may be an overlay in this field.

ROCKSHAW**** defeated a quality field in a fast clocking at the Gazebo. He clearly owns the fastest Beyer figure and has a home-field advantage. RECRUITING READY proved game to the wire, winning an allowance tune-up at Laurel. He was Grade 2-placed last summer at Saratoga, and recent works suggest he is ready for a peak effort. CONQUEST WILDCAT upset optional claiming rivals in a vastly improved performance, but he may need even more to run with the top two.

MARCY DARCY** finished fourth in a key race at Keeneland in her only start as a juvenile. The Steve Asmussen trainee shows good works and figures stronger and faster as a 3-year-old filly. SWEET INVENTION set the pace and held on well in a second-place return to the races. She switches to the leading rider and likely needed her race after a long break. I'M THE REASON is a nicely bred filly with a long series of encouraging workouts, and Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg has had a good meeting.

EXOTIC POSSIBILITIES

DADDY’S MEMORY appears a good horse to key in a fifth-race trifecta, especially if the morning-line odds hold. I’ll spread out in the two hole because it’s a large field and play only logical contenders in the third spot. The 50-cent Pick-4 beginning in race seven seems to be a four-horse race or a somewhat risky single with DOC KANE. The eighth race drew nine, and TALK THAT TALK should be difficult to beat, particularly for those who need a small ticket. The ninth has a potential single in ROCKSHAW, or you can double the cost and almost guarantee the race by adding RECRUITING READY. The 10th race drew 10 runners, and an upset is certainly possible in a contentious group.
