The No. 13 Arkansas Razorbacks' women's golf team shot a 1-under-par 287 and dropped one spot to third place after the second round of the SEC Championships at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., on Saturday.
The Razorbacks will enter today's final round six strokes behind No. 8 Florida, which had an 8-under 280, to take a five-shot lead. No. 6 Georgia moved one stroke ahead of Arkansas.
The Razorbacks were led by sophomore Kaylee Benton, who fired a 2-under 70 to move up 16 positions into a tie for 11th. Junior Alana Uriell had a consistent day with 16 pars, 1 birdie and 1 bogey to shoot an even-par 72, which puts her in a tie for fifth place. Senior Summar Roachell also shot even par and is tied with Benton at 143.
Sophomore Cara Gorlei had a 1 over and is at even par to tie for 20th place. Sophomore Maria Fassi had Arkansas' non-counting score with a 7-over 79 that included 4 birdies, 4 bogeys, a triple bogey and a quadruple bogey.
First-round leader No. 20 Texas A&M carded a 2 over to fall back to fourth place, two strokes behind the Razorbacks.
Georgia's Harang Lee turned in the low round of the tournament Saturday with a 5-under 67 to improve to 8 under, a one-shot lead over Tennessee's Anna Newell and two shots clear of Florida's Maria Torres and South Carolina's Katelyn Dambaugh.
