I-49 work to shift lanes over 2 days

Construction associated with a $38.7 million project to widen Interstate 49 in Rogers will require shifting a traffic lane onto newly constructed pavement today and Saturday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Northbound traffic will be moved onto the newly constructed left lane on a 2-mile section in the vicinity of Perry and New Hope roads from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday, weather permitting.

The shift will allow crews to close the center and right lanes to repair the bridge deck, the department said. Traffic barrels and warning signs will control traffic.
