The numbers don’t add up. Approximately 116,765 people are currently on the waiting list for organ transplants, with the kidney being the most needed organ for a transplant. And, 95 percent of U.S. adults in agree with the concept of organ donation.
But only 54 percent of adults are registered as donors. And only three in 1,000 people die in a way that allows for organ donation.
