Area collectors will have a chance to display their treasures at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History during the Cabin Fever Reliever open house set for Jan. 13 at the museum in Springdale.
Collectors (and their collections) slated so far include Bob Kabanuck, Asian collectibles; Barb Tropansky, Hardinger textiles; Joe Tropansky, toy trucks; Mary Suter, Breyer horses; Chuck Peterson, hats; Northwest Arkansas Scandinavian Society, Scandinavian collectibles; James McNally, Ringling Brothers Circus items; Bev Puckett, Hummel figurines; Bob Johnson, Andrea bird figurines; Patricia Penn, dolls; Stephen Penn, Donald Duck collectibles; Mary Vaughan, tobacco collectibles; Marty Powers, rocks and natural oddities; Rylie Schacherbauer, plushie stuffed toys and horses; Cindy Rimkus, miscellaneous collectibles; and Shara Stacks, miscellaneous collectibles.
Susan Young, outreach coordinator, said there are openings available for more collectors, but asks no Native American or weapons collections, please. Collectors may contact the museum at 750-8165 or shiloh@springdalear.gov.
The “Creatures Great and Small” photo exhibit featuring Ozark animals will kick off Tuesday and run through May 12. Organizer Marie Demeroukas says the exhibit will include “historic photos of animals as companions, guides, food providers, laborers, athletes, wildlife and modes of transportation.”
