Bentonville West 64, Jim Thorpe, Pa. 48

Shania Wilson had 17 points to lead West to a first-round victory Thursday during the KSA Classic Tournament, which is being played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

Anna Kash and Imani Montgomery each had 12 points for the Lady Wolverines (4-3) as nine players scored.

West returns to action at 9 a.m. Central today in a semifinal game against St. Francis Catholic of Ontario, Canada, which earned a 41-32 victory over Oley Valley, Pa.

Greenwood 63, Bentonville High 50

Greenwood had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures as the Lady Bulldogs handed Bentonville its first loss during the H.B. Stewart Classic in Greenwood.

Freshman Maryam Dauda had a season-high 20 points for Bentonville (7-1), while Avery Hughes added 10. Shea Goodwin and Kinley Fisher had 12 points apiece for Greenwood (2-5), while Anglea Price and Kyiah Julian each added 10.

Both teams play again today as Bentonville faces Providence Academy at 4 p.m., while Greenwood takes on Morrilton at 7 p.m.

Western Grove 89, St. Joe 29

Western Grove jumped out to a 30-8 first-quarter lead and went on to cruise past St. Joe in 2A/1A District 2 action Thursday.

Hunter Baker had 29 points and 8 assists for the Warriors.
