GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

Towers' milestone gets remembrance

Quapaw Towers -- one of the oldest condominium complexes in Little Rock -- celebrated its 50th anniversary Dec. 2 with a tour of homes and reception.

Built in 1967 as an apartment building, the 13-story structure was converted into 144 condos in 1980. The tour included the penthouse home of Bette and Jess Woods. Other owners who opened their doors included Dr. Jeff Reinhart, Terry Javert, Kathy Pierce, Hershel Cannon, Larry Braswell and Gary Brewster; and Jerry Burrow and George Finkle.

Decorations in the units ranged from traditional to down-right space-age. Guests included Holly Trantham, one of the first residents of the building.
