Cause of death not yet known after body found in downtown Little Rock parking deck

The Pulaski County coroner's office does not yet know the cause of death for a man whose body was found earlier this month in a Little Rock parking deck.

An employee was making his rounds at a parking deck in the 700 block of Main Street when he found the man wrapped in blankets shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 6, Little Rock police officers wrote in a report.

The man, later identified as 67-year-old Luther Cooper, was lying with his head on a makeshift pillow. He appeared to have died in his sleep, authorities said.

Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs said his office did not yet know the cause of death, and that it was possible toxicology and other standard tests were pending.

Cooper appeared to be homeless, the report said.
