Immanuel Baptist Church was the setting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, for the marriage of Kristen Nicole Vaughan and Dillon William Hess. The Rev. Mark Aderholt officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Martha and Tommy Vaughan of Little Rock. Her grandparents are Shirley Vaughan, also of Little Rock, the late Dr. T.C. Vaughan and the late Virginia and James Leach, all of Morrilton.

Parents of the bridegroom are Kristi and David Hess of Southlake, Texas. He is the grandson of Sally Hess of Bedford, Texas, the late William Hess of San Francisco and the late Shirley and Arnie Bergh of Seattle.

Lanterns decorated with eucalyptus lined the church's center aisle and the chancel held an arbor decorated with seeded eucalyptus, hydrangeas and garden roses. Music was by the Da Capo String Quartet and vocalist Ashley Heunefeld.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory fit-and-flare gown embellished with lace appliques threaded with gold. The sleeveless bodice had a scalloped lace neckline and sheer back. She carried a hand-tied loose bouquet of eucalyptus, peach and burgundy roses and hanging amaranthus.

Matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Brittany Vaughan of Gainesville, Fla. Bridesmaids were Christin Peck of Azle, Texas; Melissa Weddle of Lowell; Hannah Sligh of Little Rock; Justine Wagner of Raleigh, N.C.; and Faith Syphrett of Fort Worth. They wore burgundy fitted velvet dresses and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Best man was Greg Nelson of Easley, S.C. Groomsmen were Isaac Bamgbose of Beloit, Wis.; Nico Salas of Baltimore; Mat Kahl of Verona, Wis.; Eddie Boyd of Orlando, Fla.; and Austin Rhoades of Flower Mound, Texas.

Guests were seated by Colton Hess of Southlake, brother of the bridegroom; Dr. Calvin Vaughan of Gainesville and Kyle Vaughan and Connor Vaughan, both of Little Rock, brothers of the bride; Ty Drewski of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Andy Mitchell of Trophy Club, Texas.

After the ceremony, there was a reception at the Junior League of Little Rock Building. Long guest tables were decorated with runners of eucalyptus and arrangements of burgundy, peach, blush and cream flowers. Other tables held gold urns or large lanterns with wedding flowers.

The bride graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University with bachelor's degrees in Christian studies and Spanish. She has a master's degree in missiology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. She is an artist.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Beloit College with bachelor's degrees in economics and management and computer science. He is studying for a master's degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a web designer for the seminary.

After a Caribbean cruise, the couple will live in Fort Worth.
