Adam Pally and Yassir Lester star in Making History

From May 2005 to May 2014 Fox nicknamed its prime-time Sunday night "Animation Domination." Programming featured shows like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, The Cleveland Show and Family Guy.

But with the introduction of sitcoms like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Last Man on Earth, it transitioned to "Sunday Funday." The network has since added the live-action/animated Son of Zorn, and at 7:30 p.m. today, Making History debuts.

In the show, Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) plays Dan, a facilities manager at a small Massachusetts college who recently discovered time travel. He transports himself to the 1700s, where he falls for Paul Revere's daughter Deborah (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl).

But Dan's actions in the past are messing up the present. His meddling causes Revere to delay his famous ride, which could have altered the outcome of the American Revolution. To set matters straight, Dan enlists the help of Chris, a popular history professor, played by Yassir Lester (Girls, Key and Peele).

It's a relatively funny premise, and Pally has a good comedic style. Meester, who is better known for dramatic roles, is unconvincing, but Lester manages to hold his own against Pally's in-your-face attitude.
