Homeless center changes chief

The Jericho Way Homeless Day Resource Center in Little Rock has a new executive director.

The nonprofit contracted to run the center announced Friday that officials have promoted social worker Amanda Davis to lead the center after the departure of Sister Elizabeth Greim.

Greim resigned from her role as executive director after two years on the job "to pursue other assignments within the Daughters of Charity community," according to a news release.

Depaul USA took over management of the day resource center from the city of Little Rock in March 2015 through a contract with the city.

Depaul USA President Charles Levesque said in a statement that he is proud of Greim's work.

Davis will meet with donors, city officials and community stakeholders in the coming weeks to introduce herself in her new role.

Jericho Way provides showers and laundry services, case management, skill training and a daytime hangout for homeless people in central Arkansas. There are plans to add a permanent housing component to the center's services.

Little Rock contracts with Depaul USA for $323,400 per year to operate the center. North Little Rock shares in providing the funding.
