LITTLE RED RIVER (GREERS FERRY TAILWATER) The river is clear with two generators running between 8 a.m.-9 p.m., allowing a short window of wading at Winkley Shoal (Old Swinging Bridge) from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Drift fishing is good by staying ahead of the new water each day. Rainbows and browns have been biting size 16 nymphs and size 20-16 midge pupas. The present generating schedule is expected to remain consistent through the weekend.

NORFORK;Good;--;--;Good

BULL SHOALS TAILWATER Brown trout fishing is excellent, but fishing is slower for rainbows. Best lures are deep-diving Smithwick Rogues with orange bellies, black or blue backs, dark blue to gray backs and yellow/chartreuse sides. Black/silver Rapala Countdowns or and Husky Jerks are working well, as are No. 7 or No. 9 Countdowns in brown trout color. Drifting pink worms, redworms and nightcrawlers are productive as well.

NORTH FORK RIVER There has been no wadable water on the North Fork of the White River, and that trend is expected to continue. The most productive flies have been small midge patterns (sizes 18, 20, 22) like ruby midges, root beer midges, zebra midges (black or red with silver wire and silver bead) and soft hackles (sizes 14, 16) like the Green Butt. Egg patterns have also been productive. Double-fly nymph rigs have been very effective. Try a small bead-headed nymph (zebra midge, Copper John or pheasant tail) suspended 18 inches below a brightly colored San Juan worm (hot fluorescent pink or cerise size 10). The fishing is better in the morning.

BEAVER TAILWATER All species of fish are widely dispersed due to high, and bank fishing access is scarce. If you have a boat, trout fishing is good on light tackle with PowerBaits with a 3-foot leader.

CATHERINE Rainbow trout fishing has resumed as fish that were forced downstream due to the very heavy flows have migrated back to areas below the dam. Bank fishermen are catching rainbows on redworms and nightcrawlers off the bottom with a marshmallow floater. Corn is an excellent bait because it resembles a fish egg that is easily digested by these hearty gamefish. Abundant baitfish have made artificial lures much less effective than earlier in the year. Fly fishing is good with egg patterns in yellow or white. Trout fishing will remain solid until the end of June.
