SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mauricio Ramos scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, leading the Northwest Arkansas Naturals to a 5-4 win over the Springfield Cardinals on Friday.
The play came in the midst of a five-run inning and gave the Naturals a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, Jack Lopez hit a two-run single and then scored on a single by Allan de San Miguel.
Following the big inning, the Cardinals cut into the deficit in the bottom of the frame when Anthony Garcia hit a two-run home run and Jacob Wilson hit a solo home run.
Reid Redman (2-1) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Springfield starter Austin Gomber (2-3) took the loss in the Texas League game.
For the Cardinals, Wilson homered and singled, driving home two runs.
MIDLAND 6, SAN ANTONIO 5
Richie Martin hit a walk-off single, as the Midland RockHounds topped the San Antonio Missions 6-5 on Friday. Tyler Marincov scored the game-winning run after he reached base on a walk and advanced to third on a walk by Brett Vertigan. The Missions tied the game 5-5 in the top of the eighth when Noah Perio hit an RBI single, driving in Fernando Perez as part of a two-run inning.
