Where I live: Downtown condo. We love living downtown. We've been there almost more than six and a half years. My wife, Ashli, works from home and I often walk to and from work. We are a two and a half-minute walk from Samantha's and it's only a few seconds farther to Bruno's and Soul Fish.
Occupation: Chief Executive Officer of the Museum of Discovery
My favorite space is: Our kitchen, which is open and can be entered from either end.
Why? That's a place where we spend lots of quality time -- whether that's me making Ashli's latte each morning, she creating one of the soups, casseroles or desserts that continue to wow me or us working together in anticipation of friends coming over for a dinner party.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Knock out the overhang above our bar (which we're convinced doesn't serve any essential purpose) and reduce the size of the column at the west end of the kitchen, which does have a purpose but likely not one that requires it to be so large. I'm 6-foot-4 and am amazed I've only hit my head on the overhang two or three times over the years. I'm also a big sports fan, and it's hard to cook and keep an eye on the TV with that huge column in the way. And, of course, we just wish the kitchen was a bit bigger.
