Police: 11-year-old arrested after woman hit with fake gun during robbery at Little Rock ATM

Police arrested an 11-year-old boy after a 68-year-old woman was struck with a fake, plastic handgun during a robbery at a Little Rock ATM, authorities say.

Officers responded around 7:40 p.m. Saturday to 3500 S. University Ave., the listed address for Bank of America, in reference to a robbery, a Little Rock Police Department report states.

The victim said that she was at a Bank of America ATM when four boys — listed as being between 11 and 14 — approached her and brandished the toy gun during a demand for money.

According to the report, the woman got back inside her vehicle and tried to lock her doors, accidentally rolling a window down in the process.

One of the boys then hit her with the fake gun on the left side of her check near her eye, the 68-year-old told police.

While officers were en route, they found the group of boys in front of Big Country Chateau apartments, 6200 Colonel Glenn Road, police said. The fake gun was lying nearby, the report noted.

All of the suspected robbers were taken to to the 12th Street substation for questioning. Only one boy, an 11-year-old whose identity was not released, faces a charge of aggravated robbery.

The other three boys were reportedly released into the custody of their parents.

The report did not list what was taken in the robbery.
