Teen found at Arkansas grocery store described escape from kidnappers' vehicle, police say

A 19-year-old woman found in Arkansas escaped two kidnappers who bound her with duct tape and put her in the back seat of a vehicle Wednesday, she told police.

According to a news release from the Hot Springs Police Department, officers located the victim at the Kroger at 3341 Central Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. She said she had been taken by two people who duct-taped her hands, feet, mouth and eyes, then placed her in a vehicle and drove away, the release stated.

When the vehicle stopped, she reportedly managed to open a door and escape, screaming.

Witnesses told officers that the kidnappers fled the area once the woman got out of the vehicle, which they described as a gold BMW.

Authorities believe the kidnapping was drug-related and said the investigation is ongoing.

According to the release, the names of two suspects were not being released as of Thursday afternoon.
