Man dies days after being shot in downtown North Little Rock, police say

A man who was seriously injured in a shooting in downtown North Little Rock over the weekend has died from his injuries, authorities said Thursday.

In a news release, the North Little Rock Police Department said investigators were told Wednesday that 43-year-old Harold Scott, who was taken to an area hospital after the attack, had died.

Scott's death marks the eighth homicide in the city so far this year.

Officers were sent to 110 Riverfront Park Drive, which is in the area of Junction Bridge and the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report.

Authorities found Scott with a single gunshot wound in his stomach, the report said. An officer noted that a part of the man's intestines was protruding from the wound.

Scott reportedly did not respond when police asked who shot him. He also refused to give his own name to them or to personnel at UAMS Medical Center, according to the report.

Police have named no suspects in connection with the shooting, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
