Robbers take 33 cartons of cigarettes from delivery driver at North Little Rock store, authorities say

A man was robbed Wednesday morning of 33 cartons of cigarettes and cases of cigarillos while delivering items to a North Little Rock store, police said.

An officer was called around 11:30 a.m. to 1802 Pike Ave. in reference to a robbery in the parking lot of the NLR Corner Store, according to a police report.

The victim, a 37-year-old man who initially thought someone was playing a joke on him, said two people robbed him of items in the back of his truck after he had finished delivering items inside the store.

“Arrrrrr! Arrrrrr!” one robber reportedly said as he approached the man.

One person tried to climb the back of his truck, at which point the victim grabbed the robber and began pulling him down out of the truck, the report states.

A second assailant came around the north side of the truck and grabbed him from behind, the man told police.

The victim later told the pair to take what they wanted before he ran inside the convenience store.

Listed as stolen were 33 cartons of assorted cigarettes valued at $1,832.62 and two cases of cigarillos worth $50.52.

The robbers were described as “younger” males who stand about 6 feet tall.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
