Attacked when trying to stop man from taking jackets from Little Rock store, worker tells police

An employee at a Little Rock home improvement store told police a man attacked him when he tried to stop him from stealing jackets Wednesday, according to a report.

Shortly after 3 p.m., the 44-year-old worker of Tractor Supply Co., 10801 Colonel Glenn Road, told officers he was concerned when a 53-year-old man whom he recognized as the person who had stolen a gray Carhartt jacket the previous night came into the store.

The employee said he saw the man put two of the same jacket on and try to leave, so he stopped him by the cash register and told him he needed to pay for them. The 53-year-old shoved the employee into a magazine rack, the report stated.

The robber reportedly left the store and got into a red-and-black 1999 Dodge Ram with an extended cab. The truck was described as "beat up" and had peeling paint in some spots.

Police identified the suspect based on the truck's fictitious plates, but the 53-year-old named on the report was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster as of Thursday afternoon.
