SEC Network commentator to speak

Dari Nowkhah, announcer for the SEC Network, will be the guest speaker at today’s Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon at the Embassy Suites hotel in Little Rock. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. with the program beginning at 11:50 a.m. Admission is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

Arkansas leads in Minnesota

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville women's golf team leads the field after Sunday's first round at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Eden Prairie, Minn.

The Razorbacks led by as many as five shots and finished the first of three rounds with a two-stroke lead with an even-par 288 at Olympic Hills Golf Club. Arkansas secured the top spot with under-par rounds from junior Maria Fassi and senior Alana Uriell.

Fassi, the defending champion, opened with a 2-under 70 (33-37) and finished with an eagle on the final hole. Fassi is tied for third after carding four birdies and was 4-under through 10 holes.

Uriell made the turn even and added her second of three birdies on No. 10. She is 1-under and tied for seventh after shooting 71 (36-35).

VOLLEYBALL

Arkansas falls to Auburn on road

The Arkansas Razorbacks closed out the second week of conference play with a 25-23, 25-22, 26-24 road loss Sunday at Auburn.

Freshman Hailey Dirrigl registered a team-high 11 kills while redshirt senior Pilar Victoria posted a team-high 15 digs and 4 blocks. The Razorbacks fell to 11-5 overall and 1-3 in SEC play.

Arkansas State sweeps ULM

The Arkansas State University volleyball team picked up its first Sun Belt road victory of the season with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 sweep of the University of Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday at Fant Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.

Carlisa May led the Red Wolves (9-8, 2-2 SBC) with 12 kills on a season-best .474 hitting percentage. Timber Terrell added eight kills, and Drew Jones also tallied eight kills. Ellie Watkins dished out 33 assists, and Jessica Uke led the team with four blocks.

SOCCER

Schwartz's goal lifts UCA in overtime

Autumn Schwartz scored in overtime to lead the University of Central Arkansas to a 1-0 victory over Incarnate Word on Sunday in San Antonio. Lauren Mercuri earned her first individual shutout of the season, making five saves to improve to 7-3-0 for the Bears (7-6-0, 4-1-0 SLC).

Sodoma's goal not enough for ASU

Sarah Sodoma scored on a pass from Maggie Ertl, but the Arkansas State women fell 2-1 to Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga.

It was the sixth goal of the season for Sodoma, who leads Arkansas State (6-5-1, 2-3-1 SBC) in that category. It also ties her for the fifth most goals for an A-State player in a single season.

UAPB earns first victory

Rebecca Holmes scored twice and Karissa Fenwick added another goal as host University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff defeated Jackson State 3-1 on Sunday for its first victory of the season. The Lions improved to 1-7-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the SWAC.
